Shell’s new office in Kiev is the first “Green” scheme in Ukraine

JLL has completed the green certification process of Shell’s new Ukrainian headquarters in Kiev and after thorough evaluation by experts, has been awarded a LEED Gold rating - making the office the first “green” property in the country.

The energy giant’s office is located in the Class A business centre at Krasnoarmeyskaya st., 100. The leasing transaction of the 2,900 sqm 8th floor office space was previously closed by JLL in 2013.

While preparing and implementing the office project, Jones Lang LaSalle specialists took into account all requirements set for modern energy efficient buildings. Particular attention was paid to energy efficiency, water saving, lighting and employees’ comfort and subsequently achieved particularly high scores in these categories in the certification process.

The project boasts innovative design features, some of which were used in the Ukraine for the first time, including; waterless urinals, water saving plumbing fixtures, LED lightning, DALI sensors and finishing materials with recycled content.

Ksenia Agapova, Sustainability Manager, JLL, Russia & CIS, commented: “Green development and international environmental standards such as BREEAM and LEED has become common practice for advanced development projects worldwide with most landmark projects now embracing green technologies. The main consumers of these standards are international tenants and investors most of which consider environment and energy efficiency an integral part of their business objectives.”
