Mercure opens its first hotel in Romania
Mercure, a midscale brand of Accor, one of the world’s leading hotel operators, opens its first unit in Bucharest at the beginning of November. The hotel is located in the very heart of the city, in the proximity of the Romanian Athenaeum and George Enescu Museum.
Mercure Bucharest City Center provides 114 fully equipped, comfortable rooms, including 27 Privilege Rooms and one Privilege Suite. The Privilege rooms offer an array of additional amenities, such as king-size bedding, large LCD screens, Espresso machine, free minibar, bathrobes and many other attentive gestures. Also, some of the top floor rooms have cosy terraces, which grant picturesque views over the city centre.
The contemporary design of the hotel reflects the brand image and its international quality standards, while uniquely embracing the heritage of its location in the immediate proximity of two prominent artistic landmarks in Bucharest – Romanian Athenaeum and George Enescu Museum – both strongly linked to the personality and the art of Romania’s great composer. The façade and interior decorations of Mercure Bucharest City Center Hotel provide visual interpretations of the music theme, granting a genuine and memorable personality to the place. Arhi Grup, an architecture studio from Bucharest, has done the hotel design.
Accor will operate the hotel, owned by Romanian investor Dentotal Investment and financed by Garanti Bank Romania.
