New shopping centre to open in Bucharest this April

South African real estate fund New Europe Property Investments (NEPI) are set to open the new Mega Mall shopping centre in Bucharest on April 23. The Mega Mall has a leasable space of 72,000 sqm, which makes it one of the largest shopping centres in Bucharest.

NEPI and its Austrian partner, Real4You, invested €165 million in the new mall. The shopping centre is located near the National Arena, in Romania’s capital, and was finished in record time, as the developers laid its foundation in February 2014.

Mega Mall will host 200 shops, including large retailers such as H&M, Zara, Mango, Marks & Spencer, C&A, LC Waikiki, Koton, Pool & Bear, Bershka, Orsay, Lee Cooper, Tom Tailor, Tommy Hilfiger and Musette.

The mall will also include an entertainment area with a Cinema City multiplex, a World Class fitness centre and a special place for kids. The food court will cover 10,000 sqm and will include various restaurants such as Pizza Hut, KFC, Osho Stake, Salad Box and Subway. Mega Mall will also have 3,000 parking places.

NEPI’s portfolio in Romania also includes Promenada Mall in Bucharest, City Park Constanta, Ploiesti Shopping City, Braila Mall and Shopping City Targu Jiu, as well as several office buildings in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
