Construction of Capitol Park Rakovica begins in Belgrade
The construction of Capitol Park Rakovica, a new retail park project from Britain’s Poseidon Group, has started in Belgrade, Serbia.
The project is expected to be completed in just eight months and is expected to open its doors to the public in the autumn this year.
Located in a major commercial zone on Patrijarha Dimitrija Street, the new retail park will have a total catchment area of 110,000 inhabitants.
Spreading over a retail space of 21,191 sqm, Capitol Park Rakovica will house 30 retail units and 753 parking spaces. Its construction represents an investment of €30 million. With its size Capitol Park Rakovica will be the largest retail park development in Belgrade to date.
According to James Gunn, Director of Poseidon Group, the company aims to pursue further investments in the Serbian market and is planning to construct a new retail park in the town of Sombor.
Poseidon Group currently has one more retail project in Serbia, Capitol Park Šabac. Since opening its doors to the public in April 2014, the complex has attracted a diverse line up of tenants, including New Yorker, Lilly Drogerie, Takko Fashion and JYSK, becoming the main shopping destination in Šabac.
