Duna Office Center receives BREEAM In-Use certification

Duna Office Center located in Váci Street and operated by BNP Paribas Real Estate Hungary has received the BREEAM In-Use International certification with a “Good” rating.

Duna Office Center (12,700 sqm office building), asset managed by CE LAND Holding Ltd., was one of the first buildings on the Váci corridor. The building is currently in its third life cycle and has undergone several renovations in recent years. It has been internally and externally renovated in line with the latest requirements. The building belongs to the Volksbank Group and has now become a valid competitor of the newly built ‘A’ Class offices.

60 percent of the Earth’s energy consumption and pollutant emission is linked to buildings; this is why their sustainability is of growing interest. Environmental awareness is a key factor also for Duna Office Center. This is well proven by the fact, that in March 2014 the building operated by BNP Paribas Real Estate Hungary received – following the order of CE LAND Holding in 2013 – the BREEAM In-Use International certificate (BREEAM’s environmental conscious assessment scheme for existing buildings) for the building and for its operation practice with ‘Good’ rating.

Office buildings have to fulfil several energy consumption and environmental load criteria in order to be BREEAM certified. In addition to these, however, the property manager’s environmental conscious operating policies and systems are also necessary criteria for the qualification. Since environmental awareness is substantial for BNP Paribas Real Estate Hungary, it has adopted the ISO 14001:2004 standard in February 2013 with integration of the existing quality management system.
