Ada Mall a new and unique shopping center concept developed by GTC, has officially opened in Belgrade. The complex brings together a broad selection of established and newcomer brands, world-class entertainment and innovative gastronomy concepts.
Ada Mall is a €105 million investment that has provided a significant increase in the supply of modern retail space in Belgrade. Zoran Radojčić, the Mayor of Belgrade, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, stating that the opening of Ada Mall generated around 1,000 new jobs. Thomas Kurzmann, CEO of GTC, expressed his gratitude to the local authorities for their support and assistance with the project.
“Today is a big day for GTC, not only in Serbia, but also at the international level. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the City of Belgrade and the Serbian government for their excellent collaboration. We are proud to deliver the most attractive shopping center in the region and to take part in the development of Belgrade,” he said.
Ada Mall is located on Radnička Street, opposite from the popular recreational zone Ada Ciganlija. The next-generation shopping center comprises of 34,000 sqm of retail space and extends on five levels.
Peđa Petronijević, Director of GTC Serbia, said that more than 10,000 workers were involved in the construction of the mall. Besides the main contractor, Gradina, and their partner Energoprojekt, the company hired hundreds of local companies to complete the project.
“We managed to complete this challenging project in two years and make our vision, the biggest and most attractive shopping center in Belgrade, a reality,” he said.
Ada Mall is the centerpiece of urban development in Belgrade’s municipality of Čukarica, which will be further enhanced with the construction of a new marina opposite the shopping center. The complex blends perfectly into its surroundings, featuring a lake-shaped design and a spectacular plaster facade covered with vertical wooden elements, green walls, terraces and roof gardens.
Ada Mall introduced a new wave of international retailers expanding in Serbia. The shopping center houses various newcomer brands including The Body Shop, Piazza Italia, Kiehl’s and Lee Cooper. It is also home to the first CineStar cinema in Belgrade, which will open in a couple of months.
Other major tenants include Aldo, CCC, Cropp, Fashion & Friends, H&M, LC Waikiki, Lindex, Monsoon Children, Navigare, Nike, Office Shoes, Orsay, Pandora, Replay, Sinsay, Reserved, Sport Vision, Terranova, Under Armour, Women’s Secret and many other renowned labels.
Ada Mall is designed to become an attractive meeting point for both local residents and tourists. Inside the shopping center, visitors can enjoy a wide range of gastronomy options and explore innovative food and drink concepts, such as Merkada – a fusion of different cuisines under one roof.
