Hornbach opens IT hub in Romania
Construction and gardening materials retailer HORNBACH is expanding its IT HUB in Romania. The choice of Romania for this project is primarily due to the presence of a large number of talented individuals with extensive skills in the IT field.
”The IT HUB in Romania represents an essential pillar in our strategy to internationalize technological aspects within the company. It will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative technological projects for the entire Group,” said Andreas Schobert, CTO and member of the Management Board of HORNBACH Baumarkt AG.
Fashion House to extend outlet centre in Bucharest
Fashion House Group are set to deliver the second phase of its outlet centre in the Pallady area, eastern Bucharest, following an investment of €45 million. the project is slated to be delivered in June this year.
The project will be extended by 5,700 sqm and 70 percent of the additional surface has already been leased by fashion retailers. Following the delivery of the second phase, the outlet centre will have a leasable area of close to 14,000 sqm.
“We aim to consolidate our position in the market and to become the preferred shopping destination for people in Bucharest, even for the most demanding ones,” said Brendon O’Reilly, general director of Liebrecht & wooD România and Fashion House Group.
EBRD and Erste approve financing for new windfarm in Serbia
EBRD, together with Erste Group Bank have approved a financing package for the construction of a new windfarm in Serbia, which Enlight Renewable Energy will build. The financing package will provide a major boost to the country’s goal of diversifying its energy mix.
Wolfgang Hargassner, Head of Corporate Finance at Erste Group, commented: “The financing of the first windfarm project under Serbia’s new renewable energy auction scheme marks a major step on the country’s path to green energy transition and we hope it will pave the way for other projects in the future.”
The project is expected to begin operating commercially in the second half of 2025.
