SEGRO, an owner, manager and developer of a modern warehouse and production space, purchased a 5.5-ha plot of land located in the immediate vicinity of SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań, Komorniki. A new building of 24,500 sqm is currently being built there, where ecological solutions are planned, and designed to obtain BREEAM certification at the Excellent level. The facility will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2023. Under a pre-let agreement, 8,400 sqm was leased to Letbek. The remaining 8,800 sqm will be occupied by another production client, and 7,350 sqm is being built speculatively. The contract with Letbek was mediated by AXI IMMO.
The Danish company Letbek specializes in the recycling and upcycling of plastics from industry and the marine sector. Recovered raw materials are used to create original products used in industries such as agriculture, construction, furniture production, industrial production and water treatment.
“We are glad that soon we will be able to start operating in a new, very ecological building, which perfectly fits into the strategy and purpose of our company. Location is also key for us – thanks to the immediate vicinity of the motorway, we will be able to quickly and efficiently accept deliveries of components, as well as deliver our final products,” comments Michael Bayer Thomsen, CEO of Letbek.
“We designed the building in BIM, and the development project is implemented in accordance with the highest technical standards, which will translate into obtaining the BREEAM Excellent certificate. In addition, additional insulation will be installed in the new warehouse, which will contribute to the production of less operational carbon dioxide in the future, as it will be warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Thanks to these solutions, the facility is part of our plan to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, both built-in and operational,” says Bartosz Michalski, Director, Technical Development at SEGRO.
“The expansion of SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań, Komorniki is an important step in our development in the region and creates new opportunities for companies looking for expansion opportunities in Wielkopolska. Over 17,000 sqm of space under pre-let agreements proves the trust of both clients and emphasizes the attractiveness of the location. SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań, Komorniki attracts companies from various industries, especially manufacturing, which see the potential for further development in this location,” adds Waldemar Witczak, SEGRO Regional Director.
