Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection, has opened its first office in Bucharest. JLL guided the company throughout the process, from ideation to purchase. With JLL’s support, Acronis rented a workspace in Orhideea Towers, an office building developed by CA Immo in the centre-west of Bucharest. JLL represented Acronis during the search process and the negotiation of lease terms, making it possible for the world-renowned software company to start operations in Romania.
“Romania remains an attractive destination for IT&C companies that are looking for new markets to expand their operations through. We are in touch with several international players that are looking at Romania as the next step for their expansion, and we are very glad we can offer them buildings like Orhideea Towers which perfectly address their real estate needs,” comments Mădălina Marinescu, Office Consultant at JLL Romania, who advised Acronis in the transaction.
Acronis is a global company with headquarters in Singapore and Switzerland. Its solutions are trusted by more than 5.5 million home users and 500,000 companies, including 100 percent of the Fortune 1000, and top-tier professional sports teams. During the last several years, Acronis has been opening offices in new locations and regions to support global growth and demand for the new generation of cyber protection technologies. The new Romanian office will become an important foothold for serving the Romanian market — and the Balkans in general — in the post-Covid era.
With JLL’s support, Acronis found the most suitable location for their needs and leased 600 square meters of office space in Orhideea Towers. Acronis has future growth in mind with this new office, which will initially be staffed by 60 Acronis employees already in Romania. The company is developing extremely effective cyber protection technologies, including hybrid storage, advanced antimalware capabilities, and blockchain-based authentication. Acronis Cyber Protect, the company’s flagship cyber protection solution, combines world-class backup and an AI-based antimalware engine and has been independently verified to detect 100% of malicious executables with zero false positives.
“We have successfully opened a new office despite pandemic limitations. Now we are going to expand our operations in the region and leverage new resources for our global growth. Acronis has already provided the market with unique, easy-to-use protection solutions like Acronis Cyber Protect, Acronis Cyber Cloud, and others. And I’m sure that our new team in Romania will help the company in developing new breakthrough technologies and better serving local clients,” said Ivan Doudin, Acronis Regional Director of Sales.
Romania became the second country in which JLL has helped Acronis to expand. Previously, JLL Romania helped the company to rent 1,700 sqm of office space in Sofia. The Bulgarian office has already become one of Acronis’ most important R&D centres. It is expected that the new Romanian office will also become a new centre for IT expertise and innovation throughout the Balkans.
