Online marketplace Allegro has announced the relocation of its Prague offices from Holešovice to Danube House in Karlín. The building, part of the Riverside Karlín complex, is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment. Once completed, it will provide Allegro with a modern and sustainable workplace that reflects both its operational needs and corporate values.
Following a thorough market survey conducted in cooperation with Colliers, Allegro chose Danube House at Karolinská 650/1 for its strategic location in one of Prague’s most sought-after districts, its high architectural quality, and its LEED Platinum certification. The new premises will align with Allegro’s values and ESG goals while offering high environmental standards.
“The move to Danube House marks a new chapter for Allegro in the Czech market. The office has been designed to reflect the way we work today – offering a modern, sustainable environment that prioritises employee needs, right in one of Prague’s most vibrant districts,” said Marcin Kuśmierz, CEO of Allegro.
Allegro will occupy the second and third floors, with a total of 2,850 sqm of net usable space. The architectural design will introduce several innovative features to enhance employee satisfaction and visitor comfort. These include a kitchen with a terrace offering panoramic views of the Vltava, a distinctive “floating” meeting room with a dedicated visitor zone, and a spacious area for corporate events or business partner meetings. The offices will also feature phone booths and relaxation zones.
From an environmental perspective, Danube House is designed with exceptional care. It boasts efficient water management and renewable energy use, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. Smart heat pumps and shading systems maintain comfortable indoor temperatures with minimal energy consumption. In meeting rooms, the system automatically detects stale air and activates ventilation. A two-story garden and a green skywalk create a jungle-like setting, ideal for meetings or relaxation.
The office concept was shaped by employee surveys and consultations with team leaders to ensure the new space truly meets their needs. Fit-out works are scheduled to begin in early 2026, with Allegro planning to move into the new premises in summer 2026. With this step, the company reaffirms both its values and its long-term commitment to the Czech market.
