Barbora Dermeková MRICS, Valuer at JLL Slovakia becomes the first recipient of the Chris H. Bennett CEE Memorial Award – EuropaProperty

Barbora Dermeková MRICS, Valuer at JLL Bratislava office became the first recipient of the Chris H. Bennett CEE Memorial Award – an annual prize in the name of Chris Bennett FRICS, to reward a significant display of professionalism by a successful RICS candidate in the CEE region.

The RICS Membership Assessment Panel Chairmen interviewing RICS candidates were invited to submit the names of candidates who were outstanding at interview. The nomination process was controlled by RICS CEE Country Manager Anna Orcsik and the determination of the merit-based award was managed by John Verpeleti FRICS.

The award ceremony was held at the Portfolio Property Investment Forum conference in Budapest.

Barbora Dermeková MRICS, Valuer at JLL Slovakia said: “I am truly honoured to receive the award. Sadly, I did not have a chance to meet Chris Bennett but from what I have learned he was an extremely valuable member of the RICS community therefore I cannot be more proud and thankful for the award.”

Barbora Dermeková (25) joined Slovak JLL team in 2013. She is responsible for valuations and appraisals of all type of commercial and residential properties owned by local and international investors, developers and banks. Barbora graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava and continued her education at the University of Glasgow where she obtained Master´s Degree in Real Estate.

The Chris H. Bennett Memorial Award was created this year by RICS in the name of Chris Bennett FRICS, to honour his substantial contribution to the industry over many years. Chris Bennett FRICS, who passed away in 2014, was the first President of RICS in Hungary (1991) and was one of the region´s most experienced and highly acclaimed property professional.
