Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) has signed a lease for more than 2,000 sqm of additional office space in the Orange Office Park in Krakow. The space which is being developed by East-West Development Office, will bring BBH’s total leased space to more than 6,800 sqm. Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant in the negotiations. Fisheye, the Krakow based real estate broker and consultancy company, represented the developer.
A privately held financial services firm founded in 1818, BBH employs 4,700 people across seventeen global offices. Six hundred of BBH’s employees are located in the firm’s Krakow office which opened in 2012. “BBH is thrilled to expand our office in Krakow and deepen our relationships in the local community. The past two years have surpassed our expectations and we’re excited to make this long-term commitment to the area,” said BBH Managing Director, Michael McDonald.
“As a university city with an incredibly talented workforce, Krakow is an attractive location for firms setting-up or expanding their businesses. Modern, adaptable spaces and flexible lease terms are also a key draw as it can be difficult to predict capacity needs at the outset of a move. This was key for BBH – due to dynamic growth, a year after signing a pre-let agreement the firm has decided to lease an additional 2,000 sqm,” said Krzysztof Misiak, Partner, Manager of Regional Cities in the office department at Cushman & Wakefield.
The Orange Office Park will provide, when completed, 29,000 sqm of retail and office space delivered in 3 phases together with 550 parking places. The first phase of the development will be completed in July 2014. The Orange Office Park is located in Zabłocie district on the newly constructed two-level junction of Nowohucka and Klimeckiego streets with good public transportation in the vicinity (new fast tram line, regular tram lines, regional shuttle bus station, regional railway station).
The Orange Office Park is being developed by East-West Development Office – a company controlled by the Luxembourg holding Chateau Thei SA, which is active in the real estate development industry in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Poland. CFE Polska is the general contractor.
