The 13th annual EuropaProperty SEE Real Estate Awards, celebrating the region’s dynamic commercial real estate markets and reflecting its evolving nature, again highlighted some of the best and most accomplished companies, projects and professionals.
The awards gala, held on April 19th at the five-star Radisson BLU Hotel in Bucharest, brought together some of the top-performing firms and professionals operating in the SEE region. Chosen by members of EuropaProperty’s esteemed SEE Real Estate Awards Academy, this year’s winners were recognised for their continued market success and achievements in the SEE region.
The big winners of this year’s ceremony included Romanian developer Forte Partners, Austrian developer S Immo and prolific regional investor Revetas Capital. This year the SEE Real Estate Awards also celebrated Bulgaria as the Country of Honour with a number of firms and projects recognised.
S Immo collected three awards on the night including Extension/Refurbishment Project for Sun Plaza shopping centre in Bucharest as well as Retail Developer, and the Future Project award for the developer’s upcoming office development in Bucharest – The Mark.
Another successful winner on the night was Forte Partners which won awards for Office Developer of the Year and Office Project of the Year for The Bridge in Bucharest. The developer also picked up the Residential Developer of the Year award.
International investor Revetas Capital won two awards in quick succession including Investor of the Year and Investment Deal of the Year for a portfolio of hotels acquired in Bucharest in a joint deal with Cerberus.
Bulgarian firms honoured on the evening included Raiffeisen Property International Holding as Office Developer of the Year, and further crowning a successful evening, RPHI’s Adina Welsh picked up the coveted Professional of the Year award.
Other Bulgarian specific awards went to BGSKLAD as the best Industrial Platform. BLD won Residential Developer and the Residential Project award for ALBA. Galaxy Investment Group received a best Refurbishment award for the Intercontinental Hotel in Sofia, and Polygraphia Office Center by AG Capital won Best Bulgarian Office Project.
Developer CTP received a couple of awards including Warehouse Developer of the Year as well as Warehouse Project of the Year for its successful CTPark Bucharest West development. Residential Development of the Year went One United Properties for One Herastrau Park in Bucharest.
CBRE once again picked up the Agency of the Year award, and Ceres Management Services won the Property Management Firm of the Year. Other popular winners on the night included Wolf Theiss, which picked up Law Firm of the Year, and a retail specific award went to World Fitness as Retailer of the Year.
Further company awards were received by BuildGreen, which picked up Professional Service Provider of the Year. Project Management Firm of the Year went to Optim Project Management, Bog’Art received the best Construction Firm of the Year award and Chapman Taylor won the Architectural Firm of the Year.
The gala dinner was preceded by the SEE Real Estate Forum, a series of high impact panel discussions on some of the main issues affecting the SEE markets in Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria. Highlights including, the growing importance of the BPO sector in the region as well as an overview of its retail markets. Speakers and participants agreed that although some of the markets were still in their early stages of the development cycle, a brighter and more transparent outlook is on the horizon.
