BPI Real Estate Poland and SPEEDWELL Development are advancing their joint residential investment in Gdańsk, marking a key milestone as the project moves closer to its official launch. The joint venture partners have finalised the purchase of a plot of land at 1 Wiesława Street and obtained a building permit for the first stage of the GEDANIA Riverside Living project. This is an important step towards the start of the investment on the banks of the Motława River, combining modern sustainable design with historic character.
The project will deliver approximately 750 apartments with 36,000 sqm of residential space to the Tri-City market. The investment will be implemented in several stages. The first phase, which is expected to commence soon, will deliver a total of 6,477 sqm of usable floor area. The first phase will include both premium apartments and investment apartments for rent. The project will include a diverse range of apartments, from studios to spacious four-bedroom units, each with a functional layout. The diverse functional structure of the project responds to current market needs and the growing interest in investment products.
“The purchase of the land on Wiesława Street and obtaining a building permit is a key moment for us in the process of preparing a new investment in Gdańsk. The potential of this market remains very high, which is why we treat our return to the city with another residential project as a symbolic return to our roots – it was here that we started our first investment in Poland, Cztery Oceany. We are pleased to be implementing this project in partnership with SPEEDWELL as part of a joint venture, combining the experience, expertise and international know-how of both companies to create a high-quality residential development,” said Frederik Lesire, Country Director of BPI Real Estate Poland.
“Our cooperation with BPI Real Estate Poland on this project reflects a shared commitment to quality, responsibility, and long-term value creation. From the very beginning, we have approached this development with a strong sustainability mindset – not only through energy-efficient technologies, but by shaping a green, people-oriented environment aligned with the 15-minute city concept. This marks SPEEDWELL’s second living project in Poland, following the sustainably 14-storey TRIBERA Mokotów Warsaw student housing to be delivered this year, and represents a compelling opportunity to live or invest in a vibrant city like Gdańsk,” said Michał Stępień, Country Manager Poland at SPEEDWELL Development.
GEDANIA will be implemented in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, which form the foundation of BPI Real Estate Poland’s strategy while also reflecting the core DNA of SPEEDWELL, where sustainability has been a defining element and a pivotal pillar of every project since the company’s launch more than a decade ago. The project includes solutions that promote energy efficiency and high-quality common areas, ensuring comfort for future residents.
