Bridgestone has joined the group of tenants at Maraton, an office building developed by Skanska Property Poland at Królowej Jadwigi Street in Poznan. In its new office providing nearly 2,000 sqm of space, the biggest international manufacturer of rubber products and tires will launch a shared services centre.
Specialists from Bridgestone EBS from the areas of accounting, Retail taxes, compliance, operational HR and law will be working in the Maraton office building that offers in total 25,000 sqm of space.
“We decided to select Maraton as our new office as the project allows us to work in compliance with our company principles. Its location in the heart of the city with a visible logo will enhance our image, while the flexibility in office space management will positively influence finance management. Furthermore, our constant goal is to continue to be an attractive working place. So advantages such as central location, space arrangement enhancing internal communication as well as additional infrastructure, such as a gym move us closer in fulfilling this goal. In accordance with our CSR policy, we support pro-ecological activities and the building’s central location is well-served by public transportation. In addition, the building itself is very attractive in architectural terms and is designed with LEED Gold certification in mind. We will also file for the granting of an LEED for Commercial Interiors certificate ourselves,” said Marta Gabruk, HR Business Partner in Bridgestone.
The agreement with Bridgestone means that Skanska Property Poland’s investment has gained another tenant almost a year before its completion scheduled for Q4 2016.
Maraton is being developed in the centre of Poznan in close proximity to the most important business, retail and cultural locations such as Old Town and Galeria Stary Browar. The building’s construction works were launched in January 2015. Maraton will comprise six floors above ground and two below and will be a place open to the city’s residents. According to plans, a spacious and publicly available patio offering resident-friendly green space will be developed in front of the main entrance. The building will also relate to the historic context of its location as its square will have an outline of the old Poznan Fortress fortification whose walls ran through the land plot where Maraton is being developed.
Bridgestone is the second company that has decided to lease office space in the building. In November 2015, Duni European Finance Function, specializing in providing services, in the areas of finance and accounting, became the first tenant of Maraton and leased 800 sqm.
Skanska S.A. is the scheme’s general contractor. Architectural studio CDF Architekci created the building’s design while Skanska Property Poland is responsible for the building’s commercialization. Colliers International, an international advisory agency, supported Bridgestone in selecting the location and negotiation of lease terms.
