This was an unusual event – as a part of an official visit to Poland, the British Royal Couple Prince William and Princess Kate, visited Warsaw Spire. The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge visited The Heart Warsaw, a centre of cooperation between start-ups and corporations, where a meeting with young entrepreneurs was held and innovators in business creation were awarded.
On July 17th the British Royal Couple made their first official visit to Poland. After being welcomed by President Andrzej Duda in the Presidential Palace and visiting the Museum of the Warsaw Uprising, Prince William and Princess Kate headed to the Warsaw Spire.
Here at The Heart Warsaw, the headquarters of the start-up and corporate co-operation centre, on behalf of Ghelamco, the Royal Couple was welcomed by Jarosław Zagórski, Commercial and Business Development Director of Ghelamco Poland. At The Heart Warsaw, the Royal Couple met with young entrepreneurs and academics, launching the initiative “Warsaw-London Bridge” to help small Polish companies gain access to global markets.
In the presence of the Royal Couple, a competition for the “Warsaw-London Bridge” event was organized, which aimed to distinguish entrepreneurs who implemented innovations in the field of new technologies. Prizes were awarded to two projects: Whisbear, a medical start-up and Migam, a sign language translator. Both winners received rewards from Prince William and Princess Kate.
The Heart Warsaw, whose partner is Ghelamco Poland, is a centre of cooperation and exchange of technological ideas between European corporations and the Polish business community. As a part of the concept, multinational companies looking for innovative solutions get comprehensive support — from organizing the organization to work with start-ups, through dedicated scouting, to pilot implementations.
