Cineplexx Expanding in Romania, Serbia and Albania – EuropaProperty

Cineplexx, the Austrian cinema market leader and the largest cinema operator in the South East Europe region, announced that it will invest 25 million EUR in the construction of eight cinemas in Romania. The first two venues will open in the first quarter of 2019 in Bucharest and Satu Mare.

The company will also continue to strengthen its presence in Serbia and Albania, with new cinema openings planned for this year.

By 2021, Cineplexx, which currently operates a network of 22 venues in SEE, will set up eight cutting-edge movie theaters in several Romanian cities, introducing the latest image and sound technology.

The company announced that has entered into long-term lease contracts with renowned shopping mall operators in various Romanian cities. In the first quarter of 2019, the first two venues will open in Bucharest and in Satu Mare in the northwest of the country. A further two more venues are planned for the end of 2019.
