As many as 15 new brands arrived on the Czech retail market in the first six months of this year, reports Cushman & Wakefield. Compared with the first halves of the past few years, this is the highest number since 2018. The number of newly arriving brands in the second half of the year has been traditionally higher than in the first half, mainly as a result of the Christmas season. In effect, the number of newcomers this year can be expected to be similar to last year’s 38.
Panattoni has started construction of its first speculative logistics development in Hungary – a 17,300 sqm last-mile logistics warehouse in Törökbálint, which is about 12 kilometres from Budapest’s city centre. The launch of Panattoni Park Budapest City West follows the company’s market debut in Hungary at end-2021 with the acquisition of two land sites totalling 100,000 sqm near the capital.
Christie & Co has reviewed investment transaction activity for the first half of 2022 in the Austrian hotel real estate sector. The focus remained clearly on leisure hotels, but some city hotels also changed hands, resulting in a transaction volume of over €230 million in the first six months. “In general, we see a lot of movement on the market again and are looking positively into the future,” said Simon Kronberger, Director Austria & CEE at Christie & Co.
GTC Bulgaria has welcomed a new tenant – a fast-growing software company Gtmhub | For Missions that Matter will lease 1,700 sqm in Advance Business Centre I. Also, one of GTC’s anchor tenants extended its lease in Mall of Sofia Tower for another five years. This is the largest occupier in the MoS tower, taking 80 percent out of 3,500 sqm A-class office space to fit 750 professionals.
