Panattoni Europe has expanded its portfolio in the Kuyavia-Pomerania region. A cornerstone has been laid under Panattoni Park Toruń II. The two-building complex is being built in the north-eastern part of Toruń and has already secured its first tenant – a logistics operator, set to take up 5,000 sqm. Stage one of the investment process – a hall featuring close to 16,500 sqm – will be completed by next March.
To date, Panattoni Europe has delivered nearly 245,000 sqm of space in the Kuyavia-Pomerania region, both in BTS facilities (notably for Nestle, Carrefour, Kaufland) and proprietary complexes (Panattoni Park Bydgoszcz I and II). The most recent distribution centre, Panattoni Park Toruń II, will be located just 10 km from the Toruń city centre and 2 km from the Lubicz interchange, connecting to the A1 motorway. A hall with close to 16,500 sqm will be built first. The first tenant is a large logistics operator, who is taking up 5,000 sqm for the purposes of a sorting plant handling parcels addressed to the Kuyavia-Pomerania region.
However, the location of the new Panattoni investment lends itself perfectly not only to local, but also to nationwide distribution. Dorota Jagodzińska, Managing Director Panattoni Europe, explains the strategic advantages of the site: “Kuyavia and Pomerania are traversed by key transport corridors, including road-, rail- and waterways. The A1 motorway constitutes the region’s transport backbone, making for fast travel to the container terminals of Gdańsk and Gdynia and, via the A2 motorway, to both the eastern and western borders of the country. The motorway is assisted by an elaborate network of road, rail and water thoroughfares. On the other hand, the proximity of the dynamically growing Toruń provides for an inflow of employees, including specialised managerial staff”. As a result, Panattoni Park Toruń II is becoming a crucially important logistics landmark in Kuyavia and Pomerania.
At full build-out, Panattoni Park Toruń II will comprise two class A warehouse buildings totalling 57,500 sqm. It will be possible to arrange the units inside in a flexible manner, so the space in the park can be easily adapted to the needs of tenants representing various industries. With their convenience in mind, the facility will also be provided with modern office spaces, convenient service yards and parking facilities. The buildings will be BREEAM-certified, and the first one will be put into operation already in March 2020.
“I am happy to welcome Panattoni Europe to Toruń. The size of the investment and the fact that the investor chose Toruń points to our high economic potential, with optimal conditions for investing and developing in our city. Toruń is a good place for business,” said Michał Zaleski, Mayor of Toruń.
