Cora achieves green certification for hypermarket in Cluj-Napoca – EuropaProperty

Hypermarket operator Cora has successfully finalized the green certification of its retail unit in Cluj-Napoca, achieving “Good” under the BREEAM In-Use rating system. Colliers International Romania in partnership with BuildGreen Romania acted as advisors and auditor in the certification process.

“The main arguments in favour of Cora Cluj-Napoca were the reduced water consumption, the sustainable management of materials and the vast number of eco-friendly transportation solutions provided by the project. Overall, the green certification of Cora Cluj-Napoca represented a smooth process, taking into account that the property had already implemented many of the BREEAM requirements before undertaking this initiative. Cora is a company with a clear sustainability policy and their efforts to build and operate sustainable retail developments in Romania acted as the major factor in the rapid success obtained at Cluj,” commented Oana Adjudeanu, senior property manager and Green Certification consultant within the Real Estate Management Services team of Colliers International Romania.
