Ching Tai Electric Wire & Cable (CTi Cable), a renowned Taiwanese manufacturer specialising in high-performance cables and interconnect solutions, has launched its first European production centre, CTi Europe, at P3 Prague D8. This significant investment underscores the Czech Republic’s growing importance as a hub for advanced technology and manufacturing.
P3 Logistic Parks has tailored a 1,914 sqm facility within the renovated Hall 5 to accommodate CTi Europe’s highly automated production processes. The facility will house 1,749 sqm of production and warehousing space, complemented by 165 sqm of customised administrative offices, serving as the headquarters for CTi Europe s.r.o. The plant will produce key components for rapidly growing sectors, including artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, industrial automation, and medical technology.
“CTi Europe’s selection of P3 Prague D8 for its European debut is a testament to the quality and adaptability of our parks,” said Marek Jaskula, Leasing Manager at P3. “We are honoured to welcome CTi Europe as our first Taiwanese tenant in the Czech Republic and believe this partnership will pave the way for further collaborations with Taiwanese companies seeking a strategic foothold in Europe.”
The investment of 120 million Czech crowns, which the new plant represents, will not only bring new job opportunities but also strengthen the Czech Republic’s position in the field of advanced technologies. “The reasons for choosing the Czech Republic and the subsequent investment are multifaceted. The Czech Republic is located in the heart of Europe, which provides a strategic advantage for distributing products across the entire continent. Furthermore, the Czech Republic boasts a long tradition and recognised skills in manufacturing and innovation, especially in technologically demanding sectors. This combination allows us to leverage local know-how and manufacturing infrastructure to provide high-quality services and products to customers across Europe,” explains Sunny Lin, Vice President of CTi Europe, regarding the reasons for choosing the Czech Republic.
“CTi’s investment in the Czech Republic reflects the growing momentum of Taiwanese high-tech manufacturers expanding their footprint in Central Europe, ” said Remus Li-Kuo Chen, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague. “Taiwan and the Czech Republic share a strong industrial tradition and a forward-looking vision for innovation and sustainability. Projects like CTi Europe not only bring advanced technology and new job opportunities but also deepen our bilateral partnership and contribute to a more resilient supply chain between Taiwan and Europe.”
The tenant will combine new business developments, light manufacturing, logistics, and administration on-site, necessitating a change in the purpose of use from warehousing to production. “Preparing the premises for CTi Europe was an interesting experience for P3, as European and Taiwanese construction practices operate differently in some respects. In addition to building new mezzanines with offices and facilities within the existing hall, it was necessary to pay attention to the implementation of technologies imported from Asia; for example, compressed air distribution systems there have different connectors than in Europe,” explains Ondřej Hráský, Head of Construction P3 in the Czech Republic.
