SMS Metallurgy Romania has chosen Equilibrium 1 to relocate its office in Bucharest and thus occupies the last available office space in the first building of the Equilibrium complex developed by Skanska in the northern area of the capital.
SMS Metallurgy Romania is the local branch of SMS group, a worldwide leader in the metallurgical industry, with a history of 150 years. SMS Metallurgy Romania is being active in the Romanian market since 2004 and acts also a support for the companies inside the group, with sales and purchasing services for technology, parts of machinery which are specific to the metallurgical domain and production of software for the automation of the group’s products. SMS Metallurgy Romania’s decision to relocate the company’s operations to Equilibrium 1 is part of their plan to support business development and team growth in Romania in the future.
“We start this partnership being convinced that we have chosen a space that meets the expectations of our team. The quality and attention to detail of the design and the execution of the building, the extremely accessible location and all the facilities at short walking distances were criteria that helped us in making the decision. Beyond that, the customer service experience we had with the Skanska team was excellent and we have felt in safe hands since the beginning,” says Radu Nemeș, General Manager of SMS Metallurgy Romania.
SMS Metallurgy Romania will become operational in Equilibrium 1 starting July 2023.
“We are delighted that SMS Metallurgy Romania chose Skanska and we are confident that Equilibrium 1 will represent a creative and vibrant work environment for the company’s employees. With this new partnership, Equilibrium 1 reaches full office space occupancy. This represents a reconfirmation that the companies in Bucharest need an environment and working space located in buildings that are easily accessible, safe and adaptable to the various stages of their business development,” affirms Tamara Guleryuz, Leasing&Asset Manager for the commercial development division, Skanska CEE.
The leasing of the last available office space in Equilibrium 1 concludes an intense period in which Skanska signed contracts with an important number of partners such as Iron Mountain, Secom® Healthcare, Newton, Moov Leasing, Elegance Decor, Caliz Box, DBH or Fly Go who put their trust in the quality of the project and the creativity of the Skanska commercial team. In addition to these new collaborations, Skanska also supported the expansion need of the spaces that partner companies already occupied in Equilibrium, such as Signal Iduna.
In addition, to the flexible offices and retail spaces, the complex houses a 3,500 sqm garden accessible to the whole community. The sustainable solutions implemented in the building with a positive impact on energy, water and electricity consumption reductions and the design focused on flexibility stood at the basis of the concept on which the entire Equilibrium project was developed.
For the operation of the Equilibrium 1 building, Skanska contracted 100 percent electricity from renewable sources. Also, the LEED certifications, Well Health-Safety Rating and Net Zero Carbon Building pre-certification for the Equilibrium 2 Building are confirmation of the way Equilibrium is built, with special attention to the comfort, safety and health of residents and users.
