Skanska is pleased to see the interest of the tenants in the new administrative building, called Five, in the Prague district of Smíchov. The list of tenants, originally containing the pharmaceutical company MSD, the EBM Group operating in the area of construction and development, Sodexo restaurant and the designer studio U1, will be completed with Roche Diagnostics – a company operating in the area of medical research.
Roche Diagnostics will be the second largest tenant in Five. The building already received occupancy permit and tenants will gradually start moving into the building in early May.
“The diagnostics division of Roche is the leader on the laboratory diagnostics market, bringing both innovative products and transparent business practices. We would like to emphasize this image with our new business premises. The Five building was a top choice for the relocation of our diagnostics division from the very beginning, and we are very happy that it’ll become our new base of operations for the years to come,” said Tatiana Godarská, country manager of Roche Diagnostics Prague.
The seven-story high office building will provide tenants with architecturally as well as functionally unique premises equipped with the most modern technology.
“Over the past 3 years in Prague MSD IT has experienced sustained growth, we have managed to build up a team of more than 600 professionals. In the Riverview building, our first project with Skanska which opened in 2014, we have come to appreciate what works well and what we can improve even further. We have used these learnings and expertise to create the concept of an entirely new workspace – a workspace that has instantly become one of the most modern workplaces in the Czech Republic,“ said Richard Branton, MSD Vice President and CTO.
“The sculpturally inspired shaping of the Five building’s exterior has filled in perfectly an empty corner of the block visible not only from the opposite bank but also from Smíchov. Combined with the restrained original building, the dynamic interplay of varying materials on the individual storeys has given rise to a building combining the new and the old in the unmistakable Smíchov atmosphere,” explained David Wittassek from the architectural studio Qarta architektura, the author and general project engineer for the entire building.
“We chose to have offices in Five because they will offer sufficient comfort for our company’s operation and expansion. They utilize the potential of their location and the building itself to the maximum. They also meet our requirements on the most modern trends in the area of workplace organization, including the ABW (activity based workplaces) principle. Such an organization supports synergies between individual parts of the company and also increases the efficiency and performance of the company as a whole,” said Petr Vacek, executive and architect of the EBM Group.
