The recently opened FunShop Park retail complex in Ploiești, Romania, continues to diversify its tenant mix by adding Supeco, a discount format owned by the Carrefour Group. The operator has signed a lease agreement for over 1,300 sqm of space in the facility, which has been operating since April 2025. The supermarket is scheduled to open to customers in the third quarter of 2025.
The centre already hosts well-known stores such as DM, Sinsay, TEDi, KiK, ZooCenter, Pepco, Jysk, Hervis, New Yorker, CCC, Flanco, and Agroland. Additionally, a standalone Lidl supermarket operates within the complex.
“Supeco is actively seeking locations that support our mission of offering high-quality products at low prices, in a simple and efficient shopping format. The excellent results we’ve achieved so far confirm that our discount model meets the needs and expectations of local consumers,” says Arnaud Dussaix, Director of the Supeco Business Unit. “As a Group, we have gained significant experience in operating stores within retail parks in Romania, as well as a deep understanding of the expectations of customers who visit these types of locations. The new store at FunShop Park in Ploiești will offer a modern shopping environment and a broad, diverse selection of products at competitive prices.”
“With the lease agreement signed with Superco, FunShop Park in Ploiești is now almost fully commercialised. Beyond its diverse retail offering, the park also provides a wide range of services, including a popular chain fitness club and attractive dining options such as the Rimini restaurant and the FryDay Drive Thru culinary concept,” says Wojciech Jurga, Managing Partner at Scallier, the company responsible for the development, commercialization, and management of the park. The Poznan company has so far launched FunShop Park properties in Roșiorii de Vede, Focșani, Turda, Vaslui, Timișoara, Moșnița Nouă, and Arad in Romania.
FunShop Park in Ploiești offers 10,000 sqm of space. The investment has introduced a varied mix of retail, services, and recreational options to the regional market, directly meeting the everyday needs of residents in the northern part of Ploiești.
