G City Europe has officially commenced the expansion of G City Promenada in Warsaw, adding approximately 6,000 sqm of new retail space as part of the centre’s wider development strategy.
“The start of construction marks the first phase of Promenada’s expansion and an important step in the continued evolution of this location. We are consistently enhancing the centre’s offer with brands and services that respond to residents’ everyday needs and changing customer expectations. This new phase will complement the existing scheme and further strengthen Promenada’s retail, service and lifestyle offer,” said Or Ackerman, CEO of G City Europe.
“We believe the ongoing development of both the centre and the surrounding area will increase footfall, expand the catchment area and further reinforce Promenada’s position as Warsaw’s leading retail destination. This strong market position was recognised by the BEST PERFORMANCE award at last year’s PRCH Retail Awards, acknowledging the centre’s business results and high-quality asset management.”
The new retail space will include stores operated by RTV Euro AGD and ALDI, complementing the centre’s existing grocery offer anchored by Carrefour. The addition of ALDI further strengthens Promenada’s dual-anchor grocery strategy, reflecting growing consumer demand for convenience shopping and everyday retail services.
A similar approach has already proven successful at G City Reduta, where the presence of two major grocery operators has contributed to increased visit frequency.
The development will also include a new store for an international fashion retailer. In March 2025, Primark announced further expansion in Poland, identifying G City Promenada in Warsaw and G City Biała in Białystok, both owned by G City Europe, among its upcoming locations.
G City Europe emphasised that the works currently underway represent only part of the broader development programme previously unveiled for the site. A subsequent phase is expected to deliver several thousand additional square metres of retail space and dozens of new units, including food and beverage and entertainment concepts.
“Designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding urban environment, the project is a key element of the Promenada Village concept – a multifunctional destination combining residential, retail, dining and entertainment uses alongside welcoming public spaces,” added Ackerman. “The residential component already delivered adjacent to Promenada comprises 442 apartments and has achieved full occupancy, confirming the area’s appeal as a place to live and meet everyday needs.”
