A foundation stone has recently been laid under the new part of Galeria Pomorska in Bydgoszcz. It wasn’t, however, an ordinary foundation stone, but a time capsule which included not only the documents commemorating the event but also the letters of the inhabitants of the city to future generations.
The ceremony symbolized the reaching of the third and final stage of the investment that will increase the centre’s leasing space by an additional 10,000 sqm. Rafał Bruski, the President of the City of Bydgoszcz, honoured the ceremony with his presence.
Among the invited guests there were also: the investor (Resolution Property) representatives, Balmain Asset Management – the Asset Manager of Galeria Pomorska, cPM – the Project Manager and Budimex – the General Contractor. The extension of Galeria Pomorska will be fully completed in September 2015. The cost of the investment carried out by the investor amounts to around €25 million.
“Galeria Pomorska set off on the journey towards the future in July of 2013 when we started the first stage of investment including the creation of a new, additional parking area for 160 cars. A couple of days ago we finished the second stage, that is the construction of a 4-storey car park, which fully modernized the body of Galeria. We now face the last and the most important stage – the construction of a new shopping mall. That’s why it is a good moment to underline the changes that our centre is undergoing with such an unusual foundation stone. Galeria Pomorska has been strongly involved in the life of Bydgoszcz for many years, we feel the part of this city and we co-create its history,” said Shane Scott, who represented Resolution Property, during the ceremony.
The new part of Galeria Pomorska will enrich the offer of the centre by 40 new shops of international and Polish brands, such as Bershka, Stradivarius, Reserved, Cropp, House, Sinsay, Home & You, Rossmann and Carry. The negotiations of agreements with other tenants are ongoing.
