Globalworth announced the expansion and prolongation of Honeywell’s lease in the BOC building in Bucharest. This extension, which covers more than 24,000 sqm of gross leasable area (GLA), reaffirms the longstanding partnership between Globalworth and Honeywell, a global leader in innovative technologies to make industries safer, smarter, and more sustainable.
Honeywell’s presence in the BOC building has grown significantly since their first lease of close to 4,000 sqm GLA in 2011. Additional square meters of GLA were subsequently added, with further expansion in 2011 and later in 2013, 2015 and 2016. This latest lease extension and expansion demonstrates Honeywell’s confidence in the value and potential of the BOC building and Bucharest’s thriving business community.
In this new phase of the partnership, Globalworth is committed to supporting Honeywell’s growth and innovation. To that end, Globalworth will undertake a comprehensive refurbishment and modernization of the design and functionalities within the spaces occupied by Honeywell. This upgrade will further enhance Honeywell’s ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions while fostering a creative and collaborative working environment for their talented team.
“We are thrilled to continue our successful partnership story with Honeywell and to support their growth and innovation within the BOC building. This exciting new phase was made possible through the great collaboration between our Workplaces, Property and facility management and Leasing departments,” said Ema Iftimie, Head of Leasing at Globalworth Romania. “The modernization project demonstrates our commitment to providing state-of-the-art workspaces that empower businesses to thrive.”
“We are pleased to extend our footprint at the BOC Building and, in doing so, grow our already long and successful partnership with Globalworth,” said Catalin Dragoi, Head of Strategy and Business Development Central and Eastern Europe, Honeywell. “The expansion comes at an exciting point in our collaboration with Globalworth, as we are deploying our innovative cloud-based data analytics platform and other systems across the company’s commercial portfolio in Romania and Poland, to help manage energy consumption and maximize occupant comfort. These important milestones reflect our companies’ mutual commitment to creating productive, comfortable and flexible environments for employees across the region and support us in our ambitious target of becoming carbon-neutral in our operations and facilities by 2035.”
BOC is one of the largest office buildings in Bucharest, at more than 7,500 sqm per floor, offering our partners that are working there access to a wider community of companies. Its location offers great visibility and access to public transport, being situated near the subway, tram, and bus stations. This building is part of a wider complex developed between 2006 and 2011, which includes three office buildings, two residential towers and several amenities and offers its tenants easy access to important destinations like the nearby shopping centre, Victoriei Square and Henri Coanda International Airport. The building houses companies like Telekom Romania, SES Romania, Honeywell Romania, Mood Media Romania, Nestlé, Global E-Business Operations Center, Entco Software, MX1, and Airbus Defence and Space.
