The revitalisation of Hala Targowa in Gdańsk has been recognised with the Prime Property Prize 2026 in the “Building of the Year” category.
Organised by PTWP Group, the Prime Property Prize is now in its 16th edition and recognises projects and companies that have had the greatest impact on the real estate market over the previous 12 months. This year’s “Building of the Year” award went to Hala Targowa – a project that combines respect for the historic fabric of the building with a modern function, creating an attractive destination that is bringing new life to the centre of Gdańsk and creating value for residents, tenants and the city.
“For three decades, Apsys has been creating and developing places that respond to the changing needs of cities and their residents. Revitalising existing buildings and giving them new functions is an important part of this approach. For 130 years, Hala Targowa in Gdańsk has been part of the everyday life of the city and its residents. This is where the people of Gdańsk did their shopping, met their neighbours and spent time together. Even at the project stage, we wanted this place to come alive again – from early morning until late in the evening. The first few weeks after opening have shown us that the Hall is working exactly as we had hoped. We are delighted that the project has been recognised both by the Prime Property Prize expert panel and by readers – members of the real estate market,”commented Benoît Charles, CEO of Apsys Polska.
Opened on 12 August 2026, Hala Targowa is one of the most challenging revitalisation projects undertaken in Poland in recent years – the adaptation of a historic 1896 building into a modern food and entertainment destination. The PLN 141 million investment, carried out under the supervision of the Regional Monument Conservator, successfully combines the preservation of the historic structure with the extensive technical modernisation required to introduce its new food and beverage offering.
The concept for Hala Targowa draws on the historic role of the site as a place for commerce, food and social interaction. Across three levels, it features a total of 34 food and retail concepts. The +1 level houses four full-service restaurants; the ground floor features 17 street-food concepts and two bars; while the -1 level offers a delicatessen area with 10 retail outlets and a bar. The offering is complemented by a diverse programme of cultural and entertainment events across two stages.
The interior design was created by Boris Kudlička with Partners. FineTech Construction was the general contractor.
