Civitas expands European platform with double hire
Civitas Investment Management Limited, an established investor in community-based living and care real estate, announced the appointment of Marc-André Loeffler as Investment Director and Konrad Turkowiak as Technical Asset Manager. Working with the broader Civitas team, they will drive the business’ ambitious growth plans in Continental Europe.
Marc-André Loeffler, based in Frankfurt, brings over 20 years of banking, real estate M&A and investment management experience in Germany and the UK. He previously worked at RBS, PwC and Aedifica. At Civitas, Marc-André’s primary focus will be on sourcing new investments across multiple strategies, including healthcare and housing.
Konrad Turkowiak, based in Berlin, brings extensive experience across construction and real estate development. Previously at Art-Invest Real Estate, he served as a Technical Project Manager. Konrad also gained exposure to the UK real estate market during his time in London and will focus on delivering value-enhancing asset management initiatives across Civitas’ existing and future European assets.

Earlier this year, Civitas also welcomed Mark Ennis as Senior Advisor for Europe, bringing deep expertise in European living real estate. This follows nearly 30 years as a senior executive at Vonovia, where he led investments involving more than 450,000 residential units in Germany, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands and France.
These appointments reflect Civitas’ ambitious plans to grow its investments in Continental Europe, where it currently manages €500 million in assets. This includes its entry into the German market in 2025 through the acquisition of 26 elderly care and assisted living homes, predominantly across Berlin and Hamburg.
The portfolio comprises more than 3,000 beds and is operated by Alloheim Group under long-term leases. It provides Civitas with a significant platform from which to expand its European assets under management, with a focus on elderly care, assisted living and healthcare real estate — sectors benefiting from compelling structural demand.
Tom Pridmore, Founding Partner at Civitas Investment Management, commented: “Marc-André and Konrad’s combination of expertise and deep familiarity with European markets will be valuable in expanding our footprint. At the same time, with investors increasingly seeking diversification through exposure to demographically supported social infrastructure assets that generate highly predictable, long-term income streams, we are excited about the opportunity to scale our wider European platform.”
