Key leadership appointments at DHL Supply Chain
DHL Supply Chain announced two key leadership appointments in Europe. Rainer Haag has been named Chief Executive Officer, DHL Supply Chain Europe, while Filip Budík has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, DHL Supply Chain Central & Eastern Europe (CEE).
Rainer Haag will report directly to Hendrik Venter, who previously led DHL Supply Chain Europe, Middle East & Africa and has been appointed CEO of DHL Supply Chain and member of the Management Board of DHL Group. In his new role, Haag will oversee 16 Central European markets, which have shown strong and consistent growth in recent years.
Rainer Haag joined DHL Group in 2010 as Director Operations in Spain and has since built a distinguished leadership track record across multiple markets and sectors. His roles have included Managing Director Life Sciences & Healthcare Germany, Managing Director DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps, and, most recently, CEO for Germany & Alps, where he drove significant growth and operational excellence. In Florstadt near Frankfurt am Main, Germany, he oversaw the development of the DHL life sciences & healthcare hub to become a backbone of DHL’s global Health Logistics network.
As part of the leadership transition, Filip Budík has been appointed CEO of DHL Supply Chain Central & Eastern Europe, reporting directly to Haag. He succeeds Orkun Saruhanoglu, who has recently taken over the role of CEO of DHL Supply Chain Middle East & Africa.
“The Central and Eastern Europe cluster is one of our key strategic growth drivers,” said Haag. “With his impressive leadership track record, deep market knowledge, and strong customer focus, Filip is ideally positioned to steer the CEE organisation into its next phase of growth. I am confident that he will inspire our teams, drive innovation, and create lasting value for our customers.”
Budík joined DHL Group in 2000 as Business Development Director for DHL Supply Chain Czech Republic and Slovakia. He then served as Regional Operations Manager and Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Czech Republic. Under his leadership, the Czech business became a regional benchmark, achieving top KPIs and successfully navigating market challenges.
“I am honoured to take on the role of CEO for Central & Eastern Europe at such an exciting time for our industry,” said Budík. “The CEE region is dynamic, fast-growing, and full of opportunities for innovation. Together with our talented teams, I look forward to driving sustainable growth, supporting our customers with resilient and future-ready supply chains, and continuing to make DHL Supply Chain a great place to work.”
The Central and Eastern Europe cluster within DHL Supply Chain spans four key markets and supports a broad spectrum of industries, including technology, automotive, retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, fashion, and luxury. The region continues to benefit from strong consumer demand, growing nearshoring and reshoring trends, and the accelerating digitalisation of supply chains.
