Drees & Sommer Czech Republic appoints new Managing Director
The Czech office of Drees & Sommer, a global consulting company providing a single source of consultation and implementation services for real estate, industry, and infrastructure, is expanding its management team. Markus Ising has been promoted to Managing Director with a focus on clients from the DACH region. He will be joining Zdeněk Kovář (CEO of the Czech Republic), who manages the company’s current business activities and expansion in the Czech market.
Markus Ising (54) started at Drees & Sommer Czech Republic in 2021 as Country Manager. He has led several key projects mainly in the automotive and manufacturing industries that required coordination across markets between the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria. He has also been instrumental in the development of Drees & Sommer’s key services on the Czech market, which include project management, technical due diligence, cost management, quality and schedule control, sustainability consulting, LEAN management, BIM management, and design. This spring, Markus was appointed to the position of Managing Director with primary responsibility for clients and new acquisitions from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. His other focus is ESG consulting, especially in the area of energy optimization.

Previously, Markus Ising was Head of Real Estate & Engineering, including facility, asset and energy management, at MAKRO/METRO Cash & Carry in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He also worked for the company internationally, with responsibility for the construction and redevelopment of retail facilities in Poland, Serbia, Ukraine, and Morocco. In the past, he was also in charge of acquisitions, tender management, construction management and technical consultancy for investors at Güttler Bauunternehmung. He studied civil engineering at the German RUB University (Ruhr-Universität Bochum).
