Heitman LLC (“Heitman”), a global real estate investment management firm, announced the appointment of Tobias Baumann, Vice President, Client Service & Marketing to lead Heitman’s business development initiatives across German-speaking Europe including Austria, Germany, and Switzerland (DACH region).
Baumann joins Heitman’s European Client Service & Marketing group bringing more than a decade of experience in business development, client service, marketing, and product management. Prior to joining Heitman, he was responsible for business development across the Nordic and German-speaking markets at Winton Group, a quantitative investment management firm. Baumann has also previously worked at Lazard Asset Management in Frankfurt and started his career at Funds@Work AG.
“One of the keys of Heitman’s success in serving our clients for more than five decades has been our ability to consistently attract and retain high-calibre professionals. We are delighted Tobias will lead our efforts in the DACH region to enhance our market presence and deliver Heitman’s innovative investment solutions to investors and consultants,” said James Gruver, Heitman Managing Director and Global Sales Leader. “We have successfully invested in Europe for more than 25 years and view the DACH region as being fundamental given our Frankfurt presence. The addition of Tobias is part of a multi-year strategy to broaden our European reach and continue to serve our clients and consultants in the region.”
Baumann will report to and work directly with Charles Robinson, EMEA Managing Director, to lead the firm’s client service and marketing activities for the DACH region.
“We are excited that Tobias is joining Heitman to serve our clients and consultants in this important region. He has the ideal background to lead our efforts in broadening an appreciation of Heitman’s strengths in unlisted and listed property, as well as private real estate debt investment strategies globally,” commented Robinson.
Baumann earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from FOM University of Applied Sciences and has a Masters in Finance and Management from the University of St Andrews. He is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
