HINES APPOINTS STAFFAN UNGE AS HEAD OF THE NORDICS
Hines announced the appointment of Staffan Unge as Head of the Nordics. Mr Unge, who will be based in Hines’ Nordic headquarters in Copenhagen, has built a reputation as one of the most experienced real estate investors in the region. His previous roles include Head of Investment Management at Slättö Forvaltning, Country Head for Sweden at Barings and Head of Transactions and Business Development at Svenska Handelsfastigheter, where he has served as a Board member since April 2023.
Hines made its first investment in the Nordics in 2015 and has grown its presence across the region to more than €1BN in assets under management in Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The firm marked its entry into the Swedish market in 2024 with the SEK 1.35BN acquisition of a 130,000 sqm light industrial facility in Jönköping, at the centre of the country’s industrial heartland.
Lars Huber, CEO of Hines Europe said: “I am delighted to welcome Staffan to Hines at such an important stage in our growth in the Nordics and in Europe more widely. We look forward to working closely with him as we continue to grow our presence in the region and build on our recent entry into the Swedish market.”
Staffan Unge, Head of the Nordics, Hines, said: “Hines has established a reputation in the Nordics as a leading global investor with a truly local approach. As an investor with development in its DNA, Hines is perfectly placed to help provide quality real estate across all sectors here in the Nordics, delivering value to our investors as well as our occupiers. I am excited to join the team and for us to grow the business across all Nordic countries in the coming years.”
Mr Unge succeeds James Robson in the role, who will leave Hines following an extended handover period.
