Intermarché Strengthens Its Team in Poland
Intermarché is continuing to develop its organisational structures responsible for shaping and effectively implementing the company’s commercial strategy in Poland. The changes introduced respond to the needs of a growing business operating in an increasingly demanding market environment. They also form an important part of the process of enhancing the efficiency of brand development at both the head office and store level.
As part of these changes, Karolina Dalecka has been appointed Operations Director, while Kamil Zalewski has taken on the role of Director of Operational Support.
Karolina Dalecka assumed the position of Operations Director, becoming responsible for the day-to-day operational support of Intermarché stores. She brings over 15 years of experience in the retail sector. She began her career at Rossmann and later developed her professional path at Biedronka (Jeronimo Martins), where she progressed through successive roles – from Regional Manager, through Merchandising Coordinator and Operational Marketing Manager, to Director of Operational Marketing and Director of Projects.
Her work focused on delivering projects aimed at increasing efficiency and optimising productivity, as well as managing budgets for strategic initiatives and operational costs.
The position of Director of Operational Support has been taken up by Kamil Zalewski, a manager with more than 15 years of experience in the retail and FMCG sectors. He gained his professional experience at Jeronimo Martins, where, as a Regional Sales Manager, he developed expertise in store performance optimisation, improving operational efficiency and driving sales results.

For the past 10 years, he held managerial roles at Lidl, where he was responsible for the operational management of a sales region, overseeing financial, operational and HR targets. He also supported the company’s development by implementing efficiency-driven solutions and leading key strategic projects.
Within the Muszketeers Group, Kamil Zalewski will be responsible for the development of central processes, implementation of Intermarché’s strategic projects, and management of areas supporting store operations – including concept development, quality, communication and training.
The clear separation of operational responsibilities from support and project functions will allow the Operations Department to focus on direct support for regions, the day-to-day functioning of stores and the enforcement of operational standards across the network. Meanwhile, the Operational Support Division will concentrate on building and strengthening the back-office framework for store operations, particularly in the areas of tools, processes, standards and coordination of strategic projects across the organisation.
“The reorganisation of our central structures and the accompanying personnel changes have one key objective – to create an organisation that is even better aligned with the real needs of our stores, faster in action and more operationally efficient. The scale of our business and our development ambitions require clearly defined roles, transparent structures and stronger competences at head-office level. We are investing both in the experience of new managers and in the development of internal talent. This approach enables us to strengthen the network’s competitiveness in the long term and consistently build added value for Intermarché’s local partners,” said Paweł Wardziński, Managing Director of Intermarché.
