New Head of Capital Markets & Strategy for GRR GARBE Retail

GRR GARBE Retail Real Estate GmbH (GRR GARBE Retail) has appointed Carolin Pfeffer as Head of Capital Markets & Strategy. She will be responsible for capital raising at the company, which specialises in retail real estate across Germany and Europe.

Carolin will also be the first representative of GRR GARBE Retail to be based in Hamburg, strengthening the company’s connection to the GARBE platform. In her new role, she reports to Jan Heidelmann, who took over as Managing Director on 1 February 2025. Alongside capital markets and strategy, he also oversees fund management, real estate management, and commercial operations.

Her extensive international expertise and deep knowledge of the sector make her a valuable addition to our senior team. The areas she will oversee are key to our continued expansion into European markets and the strategic growth of our business beyond Core/Core+ into Value-Add and project development.”

Carolin joined GARBE three years ago. Before that, she spent more than ten years in various roles at DWS, the asset management arm of Deutsche Bank. Her experience includes client relationship management, product development, transactions management, and investment strategy, both in Germany and internationally.

At GARBE, she was part of the founding team of GARBE Institutional Capital. She played a key role in GARBE’s acquisition of GRR and the purchase of a portfolio of seven hypermarkets and 15 supermarkets in Italy – GRR GARBE Retail’s first international transaction.

Carolin holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Investment from the University of Reading, UK, as well as a Master of Science in Real Estate from IREBS.
