JYSK to open 15 new stores in Romania – EuropaProperty

Danish furniture and home decor retailer JYSK is planning to open 15 new stores in Romania in 2018, according to Iraidei Paiuc, Sales and Marketing Manager for Romania and Bulgaria.

The first two openings will take place this month in Curtea de Arges and Bistrita.

“JYSK forecasts a positive turnover trend for this year, driven by new store openings and turnover increases in its existing units,” said Paiuc.

In the financial year ending on the 31st of August 2017, the Danish retailer generated a turnover of over €78 million (366 million RON), a 63 percent increase compared to the previous year. Its profit stood at €11,6 million (54 million RON).

JYSK entered the Romanian market in 2007 and currently operates a total of 55 stores across the country. Within the South East Europe region, the chain is also present in Croatia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Kosovo.
