The oldest Swedish fast food restaurant chain, Max Premium Burgers, is entering the Polish market. The first restaurant with the Scandinavian burgers will be opened on September 1st in Wrocław. This year the restaurant chain will open a total of three restaurants and expects further expansion in the coming years.
The history of Max Premium Burgers reaches all the way back to the year 1968, when Curt Bergfors and Britta Fredriksson founded their first restaurant in a small Laponese town in northern Sweden, where they served burgers. Within several dozen years Max became one of the most popular fast food restaurant chains in their native country, and the development of the brand allowed for the opening to foreign markets – Norway, Denmark and the United Arab Emirates. Yet, the company the whole time remains a family business; currently the president of Max Premium Burgers is Richard Bergfors, however, the vice-president is his brother Christoffer – the sons of the founder of the restaurant chain. In September, Max will appear in Poland as well.
“For the past few years we closely watched the Polish market, thoroughly analysing the situation and evaluating the possibilities. We made the decision to open our first restaurants in Poland because we have certainty that it is a market on which there can still be seen a huge development potential for restaurant chains like ours. Poles are more often eating out, and the demand for good food served fast is growing all the time. We also see that Poles love burgers, which makes us very happy because we do, too,” said Richard Bergfors, president of Max Premium Burgers.
The first Max Premium Burgers restaurant will open on September 1st in the Galeria Dominikańska shopping centre in Wrocław. The restaurant will be located on the ground floor, right by the main entrance to the shopping centre, and its area will be 370 sqm. The next openings of Max Premium Burgers restaurants in Poland are still planned for 2017. The Swedish restaurants will appear in Warsaw and Gdańsk.
