Multi-Realm, the specialist manager of retail and leisure destinations, has signed up Tommy Hilfiger at Ringsted Designer Outlet, kick-starting a rebrand and investment programme at Denmark’s only open-air outlet mall.
Ringsted Designer Outlet, owned by PATRIZIA’s TransEuropean Fund VII and co-owned and managed by specialist retail asset manager Multi-Realm, has exchanged with PVH to add a 480 sqm Tommy Hilfiger store to its already impressive lineup of brands. The imposing new store will incorporate three existing units in a prime location adjacent to Gant (who will be upsizing this year) and opposite long-term anchor Nike.
The outlet destination has 48 units, including international anchor brands Boss, Levi’s, Lacoste, Calvin Klein, Puma and adidas. First opened in 2008, it has established itself as a popular and accessible shopping location, courtesy of its proximity to junction 36 of the E20 motorway and frequent rail service into the capital. Over the last four years, the outlet has steadily increased its reach into the affluent conurbations of Copenhagen, in addition to attracting visiting tourists.
The signing of Tommy Hilfiger launched the rebrand and unveiling of a programme of physical enhancements, taking Nordic design inspiration, to elevate the ambience and positioning of the scheme. Storefrontages and facades are being modernised and adorned with window canopies, modern lighting and timber cladding, which will transform the elevations and the iconic tower that sits in the heart of the scheme.
Along with the investment in repositioning the asset, the new name of Ringsted Designer Outlet (previously known simply as Ringsted Outlet) will be rolled out during the summer across the estate, with new wayfinding and an enhanced retail excellence programme, elevating service levels to deliver a truly first class and memorable experience for visitors. This will be complemented with a new online look across the website and social media channels, completing the transformation for consumers.
The arrival of Tommy Hilfiger has triggered a flurry of store refits, expansions and upsizing of stores, with Boss upgrading their store late last year and other brands using the opportunity of the mall enhancement programme to fast-track their plans. A key feature of the investment in the mall environment will be a landscaping project that will add attractive pause points with new seating, plants, grasses, trees and shrubs to soften the visitor experience and create a calm and relaxed setting.
Christine Grace, Leasing Director of Multi-Realm, said, “Ringsted Designer Outlet has a fantastic brand line-up which will be enhanced further with the arrival of Tommy Hilfiger. We are delighted to have delivered this key letting, along with just under 2,000 sqm of deals across the outlet centre, a mix of new lettings, upsizing and regears. The scheme has a strong track record of attracting footfall from further afield, and now with a more aspirational line-up and an environment to match, we are confident that the centre will continue to go from strength to strength.
As we embark on the refurbishment programme, and as a BCorp Certified business. Where possible, we will use local and regional suppliers and materials to reduce the carbon footprint of the works. This approach echoes Ringsted Designer Outlet’s exemplary commitment to community engagement, sustainability initiatives and contribution to its local economy.”
