Urban Partners’ real estate arm, Nrep, is advancing its logistics strategy through the acquisition of an existing commercial property located in Høje Taastrup. The property, totalling 19,000 sqm, is being purchased from Castellum, which has focused on developing the business opportunities for the property. The acquisition is through the firm’s latest fund in the NSF series.
In the long term, Nrep will develop a 37,000 sqm commercial building with a focus on sustainability by incorporating energy efficiency and renewable energy sources into the construction. This includes solar panels on the roof and the reuse of existing materials from the current building. The agreement supports Nrep’s strategy to invest in the growing demand for logistics centres that prioritise sustainability.
“This agreement is an important step forward in our strategy. The acquisition of the logistics centre in the capital region is not just an investment in square metres – it’s an investment in the infrastructure of the future. As e-commerce, sustainability demand, and urbanisation redefine supply chains, this agreement allows us to offer one of Denmark’s key logistics hubs to our partners. This is where the logistics of the future will be driven – efficiently, close to the customer and with sustainability in mind. We look forward to developing and constructing 37,000 sqm that can support our customers’ need to be close to Copenhagen while operating from sustainable buildings,” says Thomas Riise-Jakobsen, Partner and Head of Nrep Denmark.
With more than 2.1 million residents in the capital region, the commercial property has a unique location for last-mile delivery, where speed and flexibility are crucial – especially in the growing e-commerce segment. The area is centrally located about ports, Copenhagen Airport, and the motorway network.
The purchase aligns with Nrep’s growth strategy within the logistics segment in Denmark and marks another step toward meeting future logistics needs. In 2024, the firm acquired a logistics project of approximately 14,000 sqm in Brabrand, outside Aarhus.
The Nordic logistics market is expected to exceed 76 billion USD in 2025 and grow to around 92 billion USD within the next five years.
