Foundation stone laid in May – opening in November: Within only a few months, logistics real estate developer Panattoni and the Noerpel Group have built a new logistics centre in Elsdorf, Lower Saxony. The largest single location of the Noerpel logistics company with a total area of 43,000 square meters in the LogIn-Park Elsdorf, directly beside the A1 motorway between Hamburg and Bremen, has now been completed.
The logistics centre was officially opened on November 22, 2017. Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, managing partner of the Noerpel Group, together with Fred-Markus Bohne, managing partner of Panattoni Europe, Mathias Buschbeck, Board Member BP Europa SE, Andreas Bellmann, mayor of Elsdorf and Hans-Heinrich Ehlen, former member of state parliament of lower Saxony give the starting signal for the facility. About 100 guests attended the ceremony including political decision-makers, representatives of the regional economy, business associates of Noerpel and Panattoni as well as media representatives.
The facility was designed by Panattoni Europe, a leading project developer for industrial and logistics real estate. Panattoni also supervised the construction of the new building which provides 41,600 sqm of warehousing space, more than 500 sqm of mezzanine space and about 1,000 sqm of office and recreational space. It has been fitted with high-quality equipment, provides space for flexible, multifunctional use and fulfils the stringent requirements for storage of sensitive materials. Furthermore, the building was constructed in compliance with the DGNB gold standard [DGNB: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen – DGNB e.V., (German Sustainable Building Council)].
Noerpel commenced operations in the facility in October. The first customer projects have already moved into the building, among them the new customer BP. Further space has been leased by existing customers in the south of Germany, for example Gardena.
“Here in Elsdorf we have successfully completed a forward-looking new building project,” said Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, managing partner of the Noerpel Group. “I would like to thank all those involved: the local politicians and administration for their constructive support, Panattoni for the excellent cooperation and the colleagues in our project team for their exceptional commitment. All these factors have contributed to the success of this project.”
Fred-Markus Bohne, managing partner of Panattoni Europe, confirmed the smooth cooperation between all key participants. “Thanks to precise planning and, very importantly, the good cooperation with the authorities, we were able to complete this highly complex project in compliance with the specific requirements in only a few months. We would like to thank all those involved for their constructive cooperation and are delighted with our joint success in this project!”
The LogIn Park Elsdorf offers ideal conditions as a logistics and commercial location. The 28-hectare park is situated halfway between the metropolitan regions of Hamburg and Bremen, and has direct access to an A1 motorway junction, ensuring very good traffic connections to the port of Hamburg and the Ruhr region. The site in the LogIn Park Elsdorf was brokered by Süderelbe AG. BNP Paribas Real Estate mediated the negotiations between Noerpel and Panattoni.
Forty new jobs have already been created in the LogIn Park Elsdorf, mainly for qualified staff from the local area. By the end of 2017, about 60 more new jobs will follow. “We are delighted that with the Noerpel Group we have attracted such a successful and well-established family company to LogIn Park Elsdorf,” said Andreas Bellmann, mayor of Elsdorf. “The presence of the Noerpel Group here will be of long-term benefit for our regional economy.”
