Panattoni Europe has 233,000 sqm under development in the Silesian voivodeship and is now kicking off another strategic location in the south of Poland – Panattoni Park Żory. The new investment, planned to total 80,000 sqm, is near the Czech border, providing an alternative to the warehouse space market in Ostrava. The construction of the first 40,000 sqm is set to begin in Q3 2019, including 7,000 sqm for cargo-partner spedycja – the international provider of info-logistics solutions. The business is going to move from a reloading warehouse in Mikołów, claiming more space to expand its operations with contract logistics. The project is planned for completion in Q1 2020. The transaction was mediated by the international advisory firm Cushman & Wakefield.
Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director at Panattoni Europe, comments on the commencement of the new project: “Panattoni Park Żory is the first modern distribution centre in this location, which is already gaining a strategic status,” adding: “The proximity of the near-border infrastructure, and that of the economic zone – Katowice Special Economic Zone/Jastrzębie-Żory Subzone, which is practically next door to the new Panattoni investment – as well as modern urban infrastructure make Żory an excellent base for any undertaking.”
Panattoni Park Żory will feature two warehouse halls totalling in excess of 80,000 sqm, situated near the Czech border and the A1 motorway below the Sośnica junction. The facility will be suitable for warehousing and light manufacturing operations and upon completion the buildings will comply with the highest environmental and energy standards, including BREEAM.
