With over 1,000 companies, 50,000 jobs, and an annual production potential of 25,000 yachts and boats, Poland has firmly established itself as Europe’s leading yacht manufacturer. Renowned for their quality and innovation, Polish yachts are consistently showcased at the world’s most prestigious industry events, earning international recognition.
According to the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Polish Chamber of the Marine Industry and Water Sports (POLBOAT), approximately 25,000 yachts and boats leave Polish shipyards each year. This level of production secures Poland’s position as Europe’s top producer and ranks it second in the world in the motor yacht category (hull length up to 12 meters). Polish manufacturers are also making waves in the luxury superyacht segment, producing vessels up to 44 meters long—the equivalent of one-and-a-half basketball courts. These high-end yachts have become popular among royalty and elite athletes.
The Polish yacht industry has grown steadily, continuously expanding its capabilities and adopting cutting-edge technology. It is now regarded as one of the most dynamic and innovative sectors of the Polish economy. Over the past two decades, strategic reinvestment of profits has allowed Polish shipyards to modernize, making them some of the most advanced in Europe.
Polish-built yachts regularly win prestigious international awards, reflecting their superior craftsmanship. At the upcoming Boot Düsseldorf fair, visitors will have the chance to see exceptional Polish designs, including:
- Luxury motor yachts from Galeon
- Parker Poland motor boats, past winners of the European Powerboat of the Year award (often called the “Oscars” of the yacht industry)
- Sailing and motor yachts from Northman, a company that received a nomination last year
- The Dracan 42 catamaran, nominated for this year’s award
Polish yachts are highly valued by water sports enthusiasts worldwide, as evidenced by the industry’s impressive 95% export rate. Despite strong international demand, Polish manufacturers remain focused on innovation and market expansion, continuously refining their designs and broadening their product portfolios.
The industry’s success stems from a combination of experience and cutting-edge technology. Drawing from Poland’s long-standing maritime tradition, yacht manufacturers collaborate with scientific institutions and universities to drive research and development. This commitment to innovation has resulted in advancements in materials, propulsion systems, navigation, and design.
Poland’s marine industry extends beyond yacht production—it is also a leading manufacturer of deck equipment and accessories, supplying both international and domestic markets. The demand for boating products is high within Poland as well. During peak summer months, an estimated 15,000 vessels sail on the Great Masurian Lakes daily, hosting around 60,000 people. These figures highlight Poland’s deep-rooted passion for sailing, further fueling the industry’s growth.
As Poland continues to push the boundaries of yacht manufacturing, its reputation for excellence, innovation, and craftsmanship remains stronger than ever, securing its position as a global leader in the industry.
