Poseidon Group to develop Capitol Park in Leskovac, Serbia – EuropaProperty

Poseidon Group continues to invest in the Serbian retail market. Confirmed today, the UK-based property investor, developer and asset manager will develop a retail park complex Capitol Park in the city of Leskovac with 165,000 residents. This will be the company’s fourth Capitol Park project in Serbia, besides Šabac, Sombor and Belgrade.

The plot of 16,500 sqm is situated in the wider city centre, at the junction of 28 Marta and Strahinjića Bana streets. It benefits from being located next to a densely populated residential zone and access to the E75 highway.

“Capitol Park Leskovac will be Poseidon’s fourth retail park in Serbia. It will bring around 100 jobs to the local community in the construction phase and a further 150 upon opening,” said the company’s corporate affairs director James Gunn.

Construction will start in spring 2018 for opening in the autumn. Capitol Park Leskovac will include nine units with a total lettable area of 8,320 sqm. It will be the first modern shopping facility in the city and its first retail park. The park will focus on providing modern retail and leisure opportunities for families in Leskovac.

The tenant mix will be adjusted to shopper needs and compose international and well-known local brands. A major food hypermarket, fashion shops for adults and children, sports goods and home furnishing and decoration will provide future visitors with a complete shopping experience.
