Redkom Development has sold another retail park. Ozimska Park, a 17,000 sqm GLA facility built in Opole and completed in November 2023, has been acquired by Newgate Investment, a company that is steadily expanding its portfolio of retail properties. Newgate Investment’s portfolio now includes 33 projects located across various cities in Poland.
This marks the third sale transaction by Redkom Development in 2024. Earlier in the year, the company sold Park Glinianka, a retail park with over 10,000 sqm GLA located in Łubna near Warsaw, which opened in March 2023. Park Glinianka, now known as BIG Łubna, was transferred to the portfolio of the BIG Poland group. Additionally, Redkom Development sold a retail park under construction in Bielsko-Biała, known as Comfy Park Bielsko, which features over 17,000 sqm GLA and is set to open later this year. This facility will join the Comfy Park brand, introduced to the Polish market by Newgate Investment.
“Redkom, as an active developer, focuses on building unique and large-scale retail parks. Ozimska Park fits perfectly into our strategy, not only in terms of its scale but also with its emphasis on environmental protection and its role as a city-forming project. It represents a successful example of converting an old, inefficient retail facility into a modern retail park,” said Łukasz Komierowski, CEO of Redkom Development. “In 2023, we delivered 27,000 sqm of GLA, and this year it will be Comfy Park Bielik in Bielsko-Biała, totalling approximately 45,000 sqm of GLA over the two years. All these facilities are now in the hands of new investors. We are pleased that another commercial property from our portfolio has been acquired by Newgate Investment. It is important to us that the facility, along with our tenants and their businesses, is now under the care of an experienced and committed partner for years to come. Ozimska Park stands out for its central location, diverse mix of tenants, and the exceptional aesthetics of its buildings.”
Krystian Modrzejewski, Chief Investment Officer at Newgate Investment, commented, “This is another facility in a prime retail location that we are adding to our portfolio. Ozimska Park Opole is home to shops from well-known brands that residents of the city and surrounding areas won’t find in any other retail destination in Opole or the entire region. These include Woolworth, Dealz, Carry, and Jula. Our facilities provide added value for the city, its residents, tenants, and investors by offering an exceptional retail and service experience in local markets.”
The retail park features 28 retail and service units spread across 17,000 sqm, including a Kaufland grocery store. The internal passage boasts a safe relaxation and entertainment zone with restaurants, benches, and trampolines. The wide selection of shops, and brands exclusive to Ozimska Park in Opole, free parking for nearly 500 cars, and a charging station for electric vehicles have quickly made Ozimska Park a popular shopping destination in the city.
The list of tenants includes Kaufland, Apteka Przyjazna, TEDi, Rossmann, Pepco, Sinsay, Inmedio, Itaka, Kodano Optyk, Piekarnia Hert, Vive Profit, Media Expert, Xtreme Fitness Gyms, Żabka, Euronet, InPost, Orange, and restaurants such as Kuchenne Klimaty, Sfinks, and Pizza & Makaron Popolo. Additionally, Ozimska Park is home to stores only available in Opole at this location: Woolworth, Dealz, Verona, Jula, Carry, Tilia, and NKD.
