Romania, third in the region for value of real estate deals – EuropaProperty

Romania ranks third in Central and Eastern Europe for the value of real estate transactions in the first nine months of 2015, with transactions totalling €600 million.

The total real estate deals in the region reached €2.8 billion in the third quarter of the year and €5.5 billion in the first nine months, up by 22 percent year-on-year, according to a report by real estate consultancy firm JLL. The Czech Republic ranked first with a market share of 43 percent of the total transactions, followed by Poland (28 percent), Romania (11 percent), and Hungary (10 percent).

In 2014, Romania’s real estate deals amounted to €1.15 billion, which was a record from the last few years. The volume was influenced by two big transactions, French group Auchan’s takeover of several shopping galleries, for €260-280 million, and Globalworth’s acquisition of the stakes owned by German fund RREEF in several projects for €200 million.

This year, some of the biggest transactions in Romania were recorded in the logistics sectors, totalling about €260 million.
