RONDO 1, Warsaw – the venue of the annual RONDO 1 Run Up – will host the Towerrunning European Championships 2020. The event is set to take place on October 17th, 2020. Top elite towerrunners as well as several hundred amateur runners and firefighters will conquer the 37-floor office building in the heart of Polish capital city. Traditionally, the race will raise monies for SOS Children’s Villages in Poland.
RONDO 1 Run Up is a sporting and charity event, organized in the RONDO 1 office building in Warsaw since 2011. Although the race was held in late February in the recent years, its jubilee 10th edition will be moved to October 17th due to hosting the Towerrunning European Championships. Interestingly, it is the second time that RONDO 1 has hosted the championship race.
“History has come full circle and after 4 years the Towerrunning European Championships head to RONDO 1 again. We do look forward to this exciting event and expect the highest level of towerrunning competition,” says Daniel Cecetka, President of the Towerrunning World Association.
“More details will follow soon. The important fact is that the event will be open for amateurs, as always. There will be 500 entries available and the registration opening is planned for the second half of 2020,” declares Piotr Jakóbik, race director.
The event will keep on supporting SOS Children’s Villages in Poland – a charity organization for which more than 225,000 PLN has been raised by the race so far.
RONDO 1 Run Up will also be a part of the Towerrunning Tour 2020. In its rich history, the event has seen almost all the best towerrunners in the world compete on the RONDO 1’s challenging staircase.
