Signum Work Station has been awarded ActiveScore Platinum certification. The distinction confirms that the building provides tenants with comprehensive facilities and support for commuting by bicycle and other forms of active mobility.
ActiveScore is an independent building certification system assessing the infrastructure and amenities that support active commuting—from bicycle parking, changing rooms and showers, to programmes that encourage employees to choose alternatives to travelling by car. The final audit covered 18 areas, including the location and security of bicycle parking facilities, end-of-trip amenities, and communication with tenants.
“The ActiveScore certification process required us to take a much broader view of active mobility, extending well beyond bicycle parking, changing rooms and showers,” explained Piotr Iwanowski, ESG Manager, BREEAM In-Use Assessor and ActiveScore Certification Coordinator at CBRE Poland. “We looked at the entire user journey—from reaching the building safely and securely storing equipment, to being able to prepare comfortably for the working day. Achieving Platinum certification was the result of the commitment of the entire team, a creative approach to the certification requirements, and the implementation of additional solutions that genuinely enhance the comfort and safety of people actively commuting to Signum Work Station.”
Tenants of Signum Work Station have access to 152 covered and secure bicycle parking spaces in the building’s garage, while visitors can use an additional 62 spaces by the main and rear entrances. The building also provides nine showers, including one adapted for people with disabilities, as well as 186 lockers for personal belongings.
Cyclists can also use a publicly accessible bicycle repair station equipped with a service stand, pump, tool kit and puncture repair accessories, as well as a dedicated drying room. A Veturilo city bike station is located in the immediate vicinity of the building, while shared e-scooters and electric bicycles operated by several providers are also available nearby.
The building is home to an active cycling community, supported by a designated Active Travel Champion who coordinates active mobility initiatives. Tenants can join a dedicated group for employees who commute by bicycle, while a complimentary annual bicycle service is organised together with anti-theft bicycle marking. Information about the available facilities and initiatives is regularly shared with tenants through newsletters, printed materials, and screens in the reception area.

According to the ActiveScore emissions calculator, a travel model assuming full utilisation of Signum Work Station’s cycling infrastructure could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 5% and PM2.5 particulate matter emissions by 5% compared with an average office building in the Warsaw region. On an annual basis, this translates into estimated savings of about 52 tonnes of carbon dioxide and 10 tonnes of particulate matter.
