The lower part of the SKYSAWA office and service complex, the flagship investment of Polski Holding Nieruchomości, received the final BREEAM certificate at the highest possible Outstanding level with a record-high result of 94.1 percent. This is currently the highest rating in the BREEAM New Construction 2016 version in Poland. Thus, the result from the “interim” stage was increased by over 3 percent.
“At the final stage of certification, we managed to raise a very high rating, which we received at the “interim” stage. From the beginning, our investment was carried out in accordance with the highest ecological standards and we managed to maintain this principle until obtaining an occupancy permit. We used certified materials during construction. In order to reduce the carbon footprint, we tried to use local products as often as possible. The certificate is a guarantee that our tenant will use a building that is friendly to people and the environment,” said Marcin Mazurek, President of the Management Board of Polski Holding Nieruchomości.
“The recently published Sixth IPCC Report leaves no room for doubt: we must all get involved in the fight against climate change. We, as the construction industry, implement this by creating sustainable buildings, and the BREEAM certification result of the SAWA building is a great example of this,” commented Natalia Kwiecińska, senior sustainability advisor at Gleeds Polska.
SKYSAWA is the flagship investment of Polski Holding Nieruchomości. The key advantage of the investment is its perfect location in the very centre of the capital. As one of the few investments in Warsaw, it has a direct connection to the Rondo ONZ metro station, and the proximity of tram and bus stops, a nearby railway station and full infrastructure for cyclists are an incentive to support sustainable urban mobility and reduce the carbon footprint. At the end of January this year the entire complex was leased by PKO Bank Polski.
