ISS Poland has been a double laureate in the Lodołamacze 2024 competition in the categories “Open Labour Market” and “Socially Responsible Business.” ISS’ efforts for people with disabilities were distinguished among over 130 regional entries and more than 600 entries from all over Poland.
ISS received third place in the Lodołamacze competition in the “Open Labor Market” category for its commitment to the professional activation of people with (dis)abilities and high social sensitivity. In the “Socially Responsible Business – Sustainable Business Development (CSR/ESG)” category, ISS was honoured for its overall efforts towards the community and sustainable development.
Over 10 percent of the employees of the Polish company are people with disabilities. ISS initiatives include a range of activities aimed at the activation of people with disabilities and the creation of inclusive workplaces. Dedicated initiatives include cooperation with foundations, training for managers, workplace adaptation, and universal office design, including ISS offices in Warsaw and Gdańsk (both certified for accessibility).
Karolina Whilde, Country Manager Poland & Baltics, ISS, said, “Being on the podium in the Lodołamacze 2024 competition is a true honour for us. We are pleased to be recognized for our efforts in the open labour market and corporate social responsibility, which particularly considers the needs of people with (dis)abilities. Our mission is the professional activation of people with (dis)abilities and making workplaces more accessible, not only by reducing physical architectural barriers. An important part of our activities is raising awareness and sensitivity among our managers by training entire facility management teams. I believe we can be a leader – and a role model – in spreading good practices among employers in Poland.”
ISS specializes in creating friendly workplaces and comprehensive facility management, providing integrated facility services (IFS) based on self-delivery (services delivered directly by ISS, not subcontractors) for tenants of large office spaces and clients from industrial and logistics sectors. It conducts extensive social responsibility activities in Poland and worldwide, including activities related to the professional activation of groups at risk of exclusion and environmental responsibility, including reducing the negative impact on the environment through implementing innovations in ISS services and managed facilities (offices, buildings, factories).
