The Solal Awards celebrate the very best shopping centre marketing campaigns in Europe and beyond. Judging has been completed for this year’s awards, and the winners will be announced at a glittering event at Fabryka Norblina in Warsaw on 17 June 2025.
Linked to the celebrations is a wider opportunity for marketing professionals and centre management teams to get together for an educational conference taking place the same day.
The event promises to be stimulating, challenging and informative – an essential training and networking opportunity for marketing managers at all levels.
With a theme of “Retail Resilience”, key speakers include AI expert Dr Suran Goonislake, OBE, who is a visiting Professor at the University College London (UCL) Centre for Artificial Intelligence, one of the leading AI research organisations in the world. His research focuses on Creative AI and includes AI applications in fashion and beauty retail and communications for many top retail brands.
Other speakers include Jeppe Conrad Larsen, CEO/Partner at Beyond11, and Per Jensen, Head of Modelling & Innovation at GroupM Nordic, along with Nino Cardell COO of Mindshare Denmark. Their session will explore econometric modelling and how to make best use of channels like TikTok and Roblox.
Chris Igwe, President of Chris Igwe International and Global Retail Advisor, will be joining the line-up as a Solal Ambassador along with industry experts Julie Fitzsimmins and Anita Stampfl. All three will address the ways retail places are adapting to challenging social and economic times.
The event will be hosted by Multikino at Zlote Tarasy, an award winning shopping centre, and will include a study tour of the celebrated circular retail and leisure venue at Warsaw Centrum.
The event is supported this year by three headline sponsors – Multidekor is the key brand partner for the Awards event, while The European Shopping Places Trust (ESPT) is giving their backing to the educational conference. Credit card company VISA completes the trio. Other supporters include, MK Illumination, GroupM and HBB Centermanagement.
Announcing the conference date and venue, Solal Awards Chair Alan Thornton said: “We are thrilled to be back with a live event taking place this year in Warsaw. This is the first time since the pandemic that marketing teams have had the opportunity to get together – to learn, to network and to celebrate. We are looking forward to welcoming marketers to the conference, whether or not they entered the awards, as it’s so important to build knowledge as well as build life-long contacts within the industry.”
Solal Ambassador Chris Igwe added: “There’s a whole new generation of shopping centre professionals that has never had the opportunity to get together with like-minded colleagues. The Solal marketing conference – coupled with a showcase of inspirational, award-winning work from across the world – is the ideal opportunity.
